The patient liaison at a Wisconsin hospital faces felony charges after allegedly using PHI to apply for fraudulent credit card accounts, according to the Associated Press (AP). As an employee of Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, in La Crosse, WI, Amy Zielke reportedly used the center’s computers to do research on wealthy patients.

Zielke located wealthy neighborhoods and addresses and matched those to patient records, the AP reports. Zielke then had credit card companies send cards to vacant addresses for her use.
