It is a sad 4th of July when the biggest gesture of freedom of citizens in the world is BREXIT.

Maybe it is because I have passed another decade birthday, but this 4th of July does not seem right when the British people declare themselves free of the globalist EU power structure and Americans face the loss of Constitutional rights in every direction as the government “of the People, by the People, and for the People” acts more like King George than George Washington. As this happens, our media has turned from watchdog to lapdogs.  Instead of the proud dedication to the freedoms and personal responsibility this country was founded on,  many of our citizens are more concerned with political correctness, political repression of contrary opinions,  and ignoring political corruption.

Our political parties remind me of the Jeff Healy Band oldie “Stuck in the Middle With You.”

Well, I don’t know why I came here tonight.  I got the feeling that something ain’t right.  I’m so scared in case I fall off my chair.   And I’m wondering how I’ll get down those stairs.

Clowns on the left of me, jokers to the right, Here I am, stuck in the middle with you…

As Steve Berman of the Resurgent.com correctly suggested today, things are approaching political insanity that can take our heritage of independence and Constitution from us.  He offered this passage from a presidential declaration from Abraham Lincoln in March 1863:

And, insomuch as we know that by His divine law nations, like individuals, are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war which now desolates the land may be but a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole people? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us.

It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

Independence Day is rapidly approaching being a lost concept unless the People rein in the political class of our State and National capitals.

  1. It’s a sad state when movies that focus on internal revolution have the most quote-worthy statements. I can’t stop thinking about a quote form the movie V for Vendetta: “People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.” We need to take our authority and power back.
